Prickly Pear & Cacay Moisture Cream (50ml)
This would have to be my prize formula when it comes to my skincare range, it is creamy, it is rich, it is luscious. It absorbs quickly into your skin and doesn’t stay greasy to upset your makeup, it works with mineral makeup like a dream and it leaves you skin feeling like the shiny side of a satin pillowcase.
Moisturisers are designed to keep your skin hydrated, strengthen its protective barrier against environmental damage and prevent dryness and irritation. It also functions as a “top coat” if you will to ensure that serums and the like stay put long enough to be absorbed into skin properly.
Key Ingredients
Prickly Pear Oil
Has been dubbed “Nature’s Botox,” it is just as effective but is non-toxic and far less evasive. Unlike actual Botox, which works by temporarily paralyzing muscles, Prickly Pear Seed Oil works through nourishing, firming and hydrating the skin to achieve a smoother, more youthful looking complexion.
It benefits the face by intensely and plumping the skin, reducing inflammation and redness and fading hyperpigmentation and dark spots. Its rich composition of antioxidants (like Vitamin E), essential fatty acids (like linoleic and oleic acids) and Vitamin K helps to protect against free radical damage, promote collagen production, improve skin elasticity and promote a balanced, clear complexion. This non-comodogenic oil is suitable for all skin types as it moisturises without clogging pores.
Cacay Oil
Is nature’s Retinol (a bio-retinol if you will), actual Retinol can cause dryness, flaking, redness and sun sensitivity (meaning that your skin will burn quickly and more severely) as opposed to Cacay which benefits the face by reducing fine lines and wrinkles, improving skin tone, boosting hydration and firmness and promoting cell regeneration thanks to its rich content of Retinol (Vitamin A), Vitamin E and essential fatty acids without the negative side effects. It can also soothe irritated skin and help manage acne scarring by unblocking pores and encouraging healthy skin turnover.
Allantoin
Its main benefits are its ability to moisturise, soothe inflammation and promote healing. It increases skin hydration by helping cells retain water, protects against environmental stressors and accelerates skin repair from wounds and irritation. Allantoin also supports cell proliferation for a renewed complexion.
Olive Squalane
Dubbed “Nature’s Facelift” squalane is a powerful emollient that helps lock in moisture preventing transepidermal water loss and keeping skin hydrated and supple. Its restores suppleness and elasticity, it can soften rough skin and reduce the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles. It strengthens the skin’s natural moisture barrier providing protection against environmental stressors like pollution and UV rays. It also delivers oxygen deep into the skin supporting healthy cell growth and contributing to a vibrant complexion.
How to Use
Moisture Cream is the final step in your skin care routine. Apple a pea-sized amount to your fingertips and massage in using gentle, upward strokes extending to your neck and decolletage. Use Morning and Night. Suitable for use under makeup and sunscreen/sunblock lotions.
